claims to have influences of radiohead and U2....pls bear in mind that they're still americans. Brit-pop is Brit-pop.

Have you seen Live: The Rise and Fall of Britpop? Apparently, many bands from the U.K. were not included in what was termed "Britpop". The movie also examines how the term "Britpop" was racist in the minds of people who lived in the U.K. there wre other bands who came up with brilliant music in the '90s that were shunned just because they weren't "brit". There were bands from Ireland and Scotland too... and also bands that were inter-racially mixed.

You may call their (Switchfoot's) music Indiepop...there's also indiepunk and indierock...

I stand corrected. Much to my respect to all UK bands.. I’m not worthy! ;) I know how sensitive those English people are about being called ‘Brits’ (I have an ‘English’ cousin-in-law, for crying out loud! Pardon me). I meant to say UK music is incomparable. And yes Switchfoot falls under the indiepop genre. Thanks for the info. I guess I just based my expectations from the reviews. It’s a bit of a let down for me though, just a personal opinion. Although I must say tracks 3, 5 and 9 aren’t so bad. :)
