With the successful launch of SpaceShipOne, commercial space travel
has become a reality. That is if you have $250,000 and a steel
stomach. SpaceShipOne is the private aircraft that made two successful
flights surpassing the 62.5 miles above seal level altitude. It was
financed by software billionare Paul Allen of Microsoft.

I am no fan of air travel, so you can just imagine how unappealing
commercial space travel is to me. But this doesn't in any way discount
the efforts of the geniuses behind the breakthrough. Maybe I'm just
too chicken to board a rocket ship and subject myself to 1001 dangers
of space travel. Maybe it's the travel cost, which is really
astronomical, I must say.

Or maybe I just don't get it.
