in this regard, i'm glad the Philippines is almost always last. haha. i'm not too enthusiastic with the idea either. after watching "the net", it's a pretty scary prospect. anything can happen. after all, technology has already made a slave out of us. :) btw, ang galing ng mga reenactment ng toys mo. those are your toys right?

VeriChip. VeriChip is a computer chip that is implanted under the skin
that contains a patient's identification number which then corresponds
to a patient's medical history.
I feel quite uneasy having vital information stored in my body which
can easily be retrieved by a handheld scanner. I know that the
technology will revolutionize the way doctors identify unconscious
patients' conditions. I know that it has purely medical purpose for
now. But there's always the nagging question "what would they think of
next?". What if vital non-medical information are stored in the same
chip? (for whatever purpose it may serve). After all, the same
technology has already been used to trace missing pets.
It will take time before VeriChip hits the Philippines and I can
almost assure that its price will not be the same as its name.
