Is it originally a black & white picture? It has an "old fashioned" atmosphere that I like very much.

Yes it is. I'd like to say that I intentionally had a filter on my camera to create this effect. In truth my lens was a little dirty. I had them increase the contrast in the printing of it though.

Black and white pic remind me of my childhood, in the 60s, and family photo albums. They bring old times back, with that sense of contrast, lights and shadows that colors tend to hide. I used that kind of filters when photographing Venice, too. Some places "ask" that, don't you agree?

All these photos are wonderful, Tanya!!
I have posted some about "llamas" and the work the people do with the wood in Argentine North, I hope you like them.

Gracias NEXO and housefiner! NEXO thank you for posting those pics - how great that I get to travel to the Argentine North via your phlog.

Tiodu you put it so well. Yes there are places that ignore time altogether (like Venice) and they seem their best when the photo acknowledges that.

So true - there are places and circumstances which somehow are best captured on black-&-white. Such as this one. Absolutely magnificent shot!

Thanks so much Leica! We went from Manila to Siem Reap via Saigon. A trip I highly recommend.

And thank you Jigs! It seems counter-intuitive but sometimes I find that when you are only dealing with the forms and the intensity of the light, and not the color, you seem to get more information in an image.
