You know the old saying.
There's only one thing worse than finding a worm in your apple... and that's finding HALF a worm.
I feel sick.

Thai for lunch today.
One of the staff went out and brought back Thai for everyone who placed an order.
My Massaman beef curry is divine.

Guess who got his PS3 today?
Nice work,
Bacco007!
PS - My Playstation Network friend tag is OzDJ if anyone wants to add me ;-)

Errrgh.
Wii network is having some troubles.
Error Code 61010 is
a well-known transient network problem it seems.

Driving into the storm.
I'm announcing my resignation to my staff today.
The reactions will be interesting to say the least.

Aftermath of a day in the office.
Visited a friend at work last night who works for a large firm based in Sydney CBD. Very nice kitchen, complete with mega-$$$ computerised espresso machine.
Despite the slick fit-out, staff still don't seem capable of putting coffee cups in the supplied dishwashers.

Chumby speaks the truth.
I'm stuck in bed today with all the classic symptoms of the flu - fever, headache, all-over muscular pain, burning eyes and nausea.
What a way to kick off the weekend. Nice to have Chumby here to keep me amused.

I swear this paper is getting more complex every weekend.
Today's
Sydney Morning Herald has no less than separate 10 sections/liftouts covering stuff like news, current affairs, motoring real estate, the arts, travel, etc. Bloody hell.
But still no sign of my old favourite, ICON, which was dumped in favour of a cheap'n'cheerful blending in with the TV guide section.

The Australian Public Service.
Linda has been issued with a Sony USB memory stick by her employer. Nice one. Makes a lot of sense. Much better than a 10pk of floppy disks.
...but only marginally better than 18 boxes of floppy disks. Yes, the stick has a whopping 256MB of storage capacity! Not even a CDR's worth of data.

The old persons' home shopping catalogue - selected highlight 1 of 4
Oh yes.... this shower curtain is pure class! Other than John Wayne, who really wants to have three horses staring at themself while having a scrub?

How convenient. The "personal massager" comes in two lengths to ensure the right bit of the user's back gets targeted.

No comment, except that it is arguably the most appropriately listed item in this brochure.

B&W movie night.
To Kill a Mockingbird is on ABC2 tonight. I really enjoy this classic film.

Another appearance from the cranky old cat of the house.

PINK EYE!
Bloody flu.
It's current 2.04am Sunday and I've just awoken with more muscle aches and pains. Popped a couple of paracetamols and looked in the mirror.
Two bright red, rather sore and very watery eyes back at me.

When you've got nothing better to do than stay in bed and be sick....
...you might as well have yet another go at trying a Linux installation on your existing hardware. And, seeing the only PC that I have at my fingertips is the trusty
Asus W7J, it is going to be today's victim.
According to
this forum thread it *should* be quite do-able without much fuss. Of course, I've been hearing such Penguin-loving hype for five or six years now. Invariably, you still get caught up in a world of command-line bollocks that you don't really care for and end up deleting the Linux partitition in the end.

Simple Sunday lunch.
Jasmine rice, tuna flakes and lots of soy sauce. YUM.
Sun 4 May, 2008 - 06:07:15 PM
Cold medicine.
Two litres of fresh orange juice. I have no idea if vitamin C helps a cold or not, but at least the OJ tastes great.
