Winter is here.
All this week, Sydney weather readers have been warning of a cold snap on Sunday this week (18 May 2008). Well, they were right.
It is, by Sydney standards, rather chilly this morning (currently 7 oC). This time yesterday it was 14 oC. We don't normally eat a cooked breakfast, but this sort of weather is a good excuse to fry up some bacon and eggs I reckon.

They had this woman on TV this morning arguing that abstinence, even within marriage, is a key to greater intimacy and understanding in adult relationships.
Well, I'm pretty sure that's what she was on about. Her cross-eyed look totally spooked me and I couldn't stop laughing long enough to take her seriously.

Crystal clear...
....but very cold.
Midday in Sydney CBD and it's only just nudging 12 oC.
Nice day for a long walk.

Very ordinary cup of coffee.
...but an extraordinary caramel slice.
(FooDoo @ Myer, Sydney CBD)

This is new.
Myer has a huge
Crumpler section on level 6 of their Sydney CBD store. I love Crumpler gear and the range on display is pretty impressive.

Going nowhere?
Something on level 5 is "stationary". I wonder if it's the stationery?
Sun 18 May, 2008 - 01:40:33 PM
George Street, corner of Campbell Street.
Walking home from the CBD and enjoying the crisp winter-ish weather.
Sun 18 May, 2008 - 01:40:40 PM
George Street, Haymarket
Yep, getting close to Chinatown. Can you tell? ;-)
Sun 18 May, 2008 - 01:46:56 PM
Broadway.
The big intersection of Parramatta Road, Pitt Street, George Street and Regent Street. In the middle of the pic you can spot the transport interchange.
Sun 18 May, 2008 - 01:47:36 PM
Henry Deane Plaza.
This complex is located next door to Central Station. The office blocks largely accommodate State Rail/Railcorp office staff.
Sun 18 May, 2008 - 01:48:09 PM
Looking back over my shoulder.
Have walked a little further along Regent Street. That's Sydney Central
TAFE behind the transport interchange.
Sun 18 May, 2008 - 01:48:30 PM
Looking up from Regent Street.
More Railcorp/City Rail offices.
Sun 18 May, 2008 - 02:02:49 PM
Redfern.
Almost half way home. Must keep walking.
(Taken on the corner of Redfern Street and Regent Street)
Sun 18 May, 2008 - 02:05:41 PM
Arrrrgh! My eyes.
So. Much. Yellow.
(Regent Street, Redfern)
Sun 18 May, 2008 - 02:12:44 PM
Corner of McEvoy and Regent Streets, Waterloo.
The closed pub you can see on the corner is the Iron Duke. It was a victim of the
burst water main which saw Botany Road closed *FOR SIX WEEKS* while the various parties involved pointed fingers at each other in terms of who was responsible.
Sun 18 May, 2008 - 02:18:55 PM
Something for nothing.
I'm guessing these plywood shipping crates would be good firewood?
(Botany Road, Waterloo - nearing the intersection with Bourke Street)
Sun 18 May, 2008 - 02:22:19 PM
Anyone want a Mazda?
This is the holding yard for local car dealer,
John Newell Mazda (on Bourke Street, Waterloo). Must be a couple of hundred new cars sitting in here waiting to be adopted. I think this is the first time I've seen the main gate open.
Sun 18 May, 2008 - 02:28:19 PM
Almost home.
I need a cold drink ;-)
Sun 18 May, 2008 - 02:28:53 PM
I've earned this.
Now I'm home it's time for an icy cold glass of Coke Zero.
