MMMMM
"My Way"
and now,
the end is near;
and so I face
the final curtain.
my friend,
I'll say it clear,
I'll state my case
of which I'm certain.
I've lived
a life that's full;
I traveled
each and every highway;
and more,
much more than this,
I did it my way.
regrets,
I've had a few;
but then again,
too few to mention.
I did
what I had to do
and saw it through
without exemption.
I planned
each charted course,
each careful step,
along the byway;
but more,
much more than this,
I did it my way.
yes,
there were times,
I'm sure you knew
when I bit off more
than I could chew.
but through it all,
when there was doubt,
I ate it up
and spit it out.
I faced it all
and I stood tall
and did it my way.
I've loved,
I've laughed and cried,
I've had my fill,
my share of losing;
and now,
as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.
to think
I did all that
and may I say,
not in a shy way.
oh no,
oh no, not me,
I did it my way.
for what is a man,
what has he got?
if not himself,
then he has naught.
to say
the things he truly feels
and not the words
of one who kneels.
the record shows,
I took the blows
and did it my way!
yes,
it was my way!

"Stop the world, I want to get off"
(that's the title of a book, musical & movie by Leslie Bricusse & Anthony Newley; but, it can stand on it's own to be quotable)
"here's where the story ends"
people I know
places I go
make me feel tongue tied
I can see how people look down
they're on the inside
here's where the story ends
people I see
weary of me
showing my good side
I can see how people look down
I'm on the outside
here's where the story ends
oh, here's where the story ends
it's that little souvenir
of a terrible year
which makes my eyes feel sore
oh I never should have said
the books that you read
were all I loved you for
it's that little souvenir
of a terrible year
which makes me wonder why
and it's the memories of your shed
that make me turn red
surprise surprise surprise
crazy I know
places I go
make me feel so tired
I can see how people look down
I'm on the outside
oh here's where the story ends
oh here's where the story ends
it's that little souvenir
of a terrible year
which makes my eyes feel sore
and who ever would've thought
the books that you brought
were all I loved you for
oh the devil in me said
go down to the shed
I know where I belong
but the only thing I ever really wanted to say
was wrong, was wrong, was wrong
it's that little souvenir
of a colorful year
which makes me smile inside
so I cynically, cynically say
the world is that way
surprise, surprise, surprise, surprise, surprise
here's where the story ends
oh here's where the story ends

this is the only song (in this countdown) that I actually haven't heard… however, the lyric is probably the most "in tune" (pun intended) to what this countdown is about… the title of the song, itself, is strangely coincidental to what I named my phlog…
Kaleidoscope
I know that you are thinking about me now
I can feel it but I don't know how
when I'm gone you will see so clear
that I left some words unspoken here
all these words that I have said
float around you, fill your head
all the times we laughed and cried
I never thought I'd leave you behind
I don't want you to understand
you will never hold me in your hand
I don't want you to see my face
when I fade away and leave this place
all these songs that fill my head
dance around you when I'm dead
all the love I ever knew
kaleidoscopes around to you
all these words that I have said
float around you, fill your head
all the times we laughed and cried
I never thought I'd change your mind

"Souvenir"
It's my direction
It's my proposal
It's so hard
It's leading me astray
My obsession
It's my creation
You'll understand
It's not important now
All I need is
Co-ordination
I can't imagine
My destination
My intention
Ask my opinion
But no excuse
My feelings still remain
My feelings still remain

"Transfer Affection "
hold on, hold on
I'm trying to transfer affection,
trying to feel factor four.
trying to change my direction,
to go where I was once before.
don't try to tell me now
that I'm out here on my own;
and there's no way to carry on.
don't try to tell me
that there's nothing left to hide;
nothing inside.
I'm trying to break all connections,
burning a hole in my heart.
trying to transfer affection
is starting to tear me apart.
I'm tired, but then on reflection,
it's so hard to open my eyes;
to try reaching out for affection,
it's so hard to break the disguise.
hold on, hold on

"Change "
Change
You can change
And something on your mind
Became a point of view
You lost your honesty
I lost the life in you
When it's all too late
It's all too late
We walk and talk in time
I walk and talk in two
Where does the end of me
Become the start of you
When it's all too late
It's all too late
What has happened to
The friend that I once knew
Has he gone away

and, here's another lyric…
(can ya' guess from who?)
"Dog-End of a Day Gone By"
There's a man on the corner
Coming on like Moses
Flogging new religion
like a bunch of plastic roses
He's found his path
To the bleeding heart of jesus
You tell him
You've found yours
Heir to a future
You never made
There is nothing less amusing
Then the amusement arcade
In a city without a soul
Newspaper boys selling you the hard truth
Lucifer employs idle hands by night and day
Stuck at the dog-end of a day gone by, boy
Stuck at the dog-end of a day gone by
Stuck at the dog-end of a day gone by, boy
Don't let the smoke get in your eyes
Well the drunk outside the Wendy's
Is becoming less than friendly
A dog is barking at the moon
The drunk outside the Wendy's
Is becoming less than friendly
A dog is barking at the moon
You want to get away
From the city of light
Then when you've gone
You want to get back
It is some strange addiction
When you need to put yourself
Back in your eye
Stuck at the dog-end of a day gone by, boy
Stuck at the dog-end of a day gone by
Stuck at the dog-end of a day gone by, boy
Don't let the smoke get in your eye
Stuck at the dog-end of a day gone by, boy
Stuck at the dog-end of a day gone by
Stuck at the dog-end of a day gone by, boy
Don't let the smoke get in your…
Stub out the dog-end of a day gone by, boy

"OX4"
never been so far away
I don't think I want to stay in this room
anymore
if I crawl across the floor
then I'd be closer to that door
it's too far
never been so far away
just lost the last thought in my head
what happens now?
some fantasy you've been
pick up the pieces in my mind
I'm going home

"Standing"
Eyes betray the soul and bear it's thinking.
Beyond words they say so many things to me.
A stranger here reborn it seems
awaking wonders deep in me.
If nothing's ventured nothing's gained
so I must seize the day.
And fighting time so hard I pray
that this moment lasts forever.
And will the world stay standing still at least for me.
Through my eyes stare into me.
I bear my heart for all to see.
With my face turned to the sun there ever standing still.
It wasn't you it wasn't me it wasn't anyone.
It was a day so long awaited and a chance to be as me.
I let the wind run through my hands
as I turned to walk away.
In distant days I long to sense it all so clear.
And fighting time so hard I pray
that this moment lasts forever.
And will the world stay standing still at least for me.
Through my eyes stare into me.
I bear my heart for all to see.
With my face turned to the sun there ever standing still.
And fighting time so much I ask.
I will this morning last forever.
Though seasons change and things come to pass
remain inside of me.
And fighting time so hard I pray
that this moment lasts forever.
and will the world stay standing still at least for me.
I had no faith before that day in any vow or deed.
Days followed days and years were meaningless.
Despite the wisdom of defeat
I bore my heart for all to see the wonders I'd seen.

oi! lookit dem pooch's eyes!
anywho…
here's another lyric…
dis' from a Depeche Mode song:
"Leave In Silence"
I've told myself so many times before
but this time I think I mean it for sure
we have reached a full stop
nothing's going to save us from the big drop
reached our natural conclusion
outlived the illusion
I hate being in these situations
that call for diplomatic relations
if I only knew the answer
or I thought we had a chance
or I could stop this
I would stop this thing
from spreading like a cancer
what can I say?
"I don't want to play anymore"
what can I say?
"I'm heading for the door"
I can't stand this emotional violence
leave in silence
we've been running around in circles all year
doing this and that and getting nowhere
this will be the last time
I think I said that last time
if I only had a potion
some magical lotion
that could stop this
I would set the wheels in motion

"The Chauffeur"
out on the tar plains,
the glides are moving
all looking for a new place to drive
you sit beside me,
so newly charming
sweating dew drops
glisten, freshing your side
the sun slips down bedding heavy behind
the front of your dress all shadowy lined
and the droning engine throbs in time
with your beating heart
sing blue silver
way down the lane away,
living for another day
the aphids swarm up in the drifting haze
swim seagull in the sky
towards that hollow western isle
my envied lady holds you fast in her gaze
and watching lovers part,
I feel you smiling
what glass splinters lie
so deep in your mind
to tear out from your eyes
with a word to stiffen brooding lies
but I'll only watch you leave me further behind

behold… da Airwash!
2 students from Singapore invented a waterless washing machine…
for someone who's havin' fun tryin' to help damage English… I must say dat I'm a bit perplexed & amused on da chosen English words to describe & name da invention… how can you
wash without water?
by description, it's a home/portable "
dry cleaner"… but, dat doesn't sound original…
da roundabout broken English description & name sounds better… don't you agree?

does anyone know all of da silent consonants in da English language?
12-3-5 update:
what is da purpose for silent consonants (and vowels)?
personally, I think dey're a waste of time. methinxz dat dey're used to make da words look more foreign dan dey really sound… it's like makin' an English word look like it's French or somethin'…
but… many thanxz to cell phones & SMS (text messagin'), people, who use SMS shorthand, tend to exclude dem silent consonants (and vowels) due to da character limit per message set by deir cell service provider… da purpose of SMS shorthand is to be able to quickly send as much info as you can per message…
